Big events mean big business at Milan Linate Prime

Following the UEFA Champions League Final in Milan last month, Milan Linate Prime announced that airport traffic figures were four times higher than normal – going to show that big events have a significant impact on business aviation. According to the data, on the weekend of 25 – 29 May, Milan Linate Prime saw an average of 650 movements, with a peak of 215 on the 29th alone. Furthermore, these flights were not only coming from European cities. Although half were arriving from such destinations as Spain, UK, Germany and France, and 30% from within Italy itself, the remaining 20% were flying in from such places as Russia, the US and Saudi Arabia. “Milan affirms itself as a strategic platform for business aviation, and the numerous and ongoing events in the city that began with Expo 2015 and have included the F1 Grand Prix, Design Week and the Champions League Final have played a large role in increasing traffic at our FBO and confirming the validity of SEA Prime’s investment strategy,” says SEA Prime General Manager Chiara Dorigotti. The company recently opened a new hangar at the airport. On top of the busy weekend at Linate, Milan Malpensa also saw increased numbers – welcoming 210 movements during the Champions weekend. SEA Prime representatives see Milan as a growing hub for business aviation. To better serve this sector, they are currently developing a new bizav dedicated FBO at the airport.

SEA Prime partners with Gate Gourmet Italia

SEA Prime has signed an agreement with Gate Gourmet Italia, the in-flight catering and food services provider, that will see its services added to the comprehensive portfolio of services offered at the Milano Linate Prime FBO. From June 2016, all passengers, crew and guests transiting through the FBO or BMW Business Center will be able to taste the fine foods on offer at the new Prime Gusto restaurant and bar, situated on the ground floor of the general aviation terminal.
